Team TASH – November 2019 Updates
With the 2019 British Indoor Championships and the Kings of Archery tournament, November has been a very busy month. But so much more has happened for our sponsored archers.
Yulia Larkins has been made a part of the Archery GB Olympic Ambition Squad. A great accomplishment and recognition for her efforts!
Lizzie Foster came second in ladies compound at Cleadon Archers.
Michael Kells shot at Allington doing their Worcester Portsmouth. He managed to shoot a clean 300 with 55x’s to lead in the morning. It wasn’t his best Portsmouth but it was enough to take the top spot again and also the over all.
We could spot Jim Metcalfe and Itay Shanny at Kings of Archery, in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
Michelle Sword also shot at Allington Castle very well run Worcester/Portsmouth round. She took the win for both individual rounds and overall.
Malcolm Alexander & Fiona Hirst attended the Tina James Memorial Portsmouth at Lasswade. Fiona got 3rd Ladies Recurve
and Malcolm 3rd Gents Recurve.
Fiona also received the Scottish Archery Senior Volunteer of the Year.
A few of our sponsored archers have been selected to represent Scotland in the 2019 British Indoor Championships:
- Fiona Hirst for Women’s Recurve
- Euan Pride for Junior Boys Compound
- Mirran Yule for Junior Girls Recurve
Sinead Byrne also competed in the Junior National Indoor Championships, selected to represent Ireland. She took 1st place and she is now the U16 British Champion in ladies compound. Sinead attended a WRS WA 18 Autumn challenge held by Lisburn City Archery Club. She took 1st place, achieved a new PB and claimed a new N. Ireland Record.
Charlie Birch shot at the Oxfordshire Indoor Championships today. She got 1st county and 1st in Head to Heads.
Oliver Robinson participated at Caldy Bowmens 40th indoor Portsmouth. He was awarded 1st place and retained the U14 trophy for the 3rd year running. He also shot at Bamber Bridge for the Lancashire Archery Association Indoor Championships where he retained the Lancashire Junior Indoor Champion trophy for the 3rd consecutive year.
Nick Thomas was chosen to represent GB in the European Championship in 2020. What a great achievement, we are very proud of you, Nick!
Katsaitis Panagiotis participated in the Aphrodite Mediterranean Cup 2019: take the 9th place in the qualification, the 5th place in the elimination rounds and the 2nd place in the team elimination rounds. This is where he met Patrick Huston, who had also took part in the Aphrodite Cup. They had a nice chat – and took that great photograph.
Itay Shanny came 3rd at a National Competition, qualified 1st with 573. He also shot at the annual 12 hour competition in Israel. He finished first in individual recurve for the second year in a row, with a 283 average (216 total arrows shot).
Jasmine Simpson placed second at the Kettering Clout and 3rd at the Stourbridge Company of Archers Worcester with a new PB.
Hannah Ackland-Snow shot at the Junior Indoor Nationals managing to climb quite a few places on last year.
Shamsul Hussain participated at Green Dragon Bowmen Portsmouth UKRS in Hertfordshire. Scored 576 in first session and 578 in second session. He got a PB on double Portsmouth. He finished 1st in overall individual and finished 1st for highest score in double round. It was his first time winning indoors individual gold medals since beginning of archery.
Martin Krusche attended the STAFAA 3D indoor championships. He won Gold in AMFU (Compound unlimited) and AMBU(5 pin sight and short stabiliser).
Getting first in the Junior National Indoor Championship, Jessica Pollitt had a superb shoot and a massive Personal Best 569pts. She also attended Caldy Bowmen’s 40th annual Portsmouth, where she met other Team TASH members: Paula Uusnäkki and Oliver Robinson. Jessica shot 553pts, coming 2nd.
Rhian Costall was part of Keele University Archery Team at the NUEAL competition in Liverpool.
Adam Miller was part of the team that came first in their Division in the last BA Winter Postal League (Portsmouth Round); he managed to get the highest score 2 months in a row.
Rachael Hurle shoot at Crookhorn 19 at the beginning of the month. At Allington Castle Archers Worcester/Portsmouth she got silver and bronze and Gold at Tenzone’s Portsmouth.
